The Foundation that Jean Dubuffet (1901–1985) created during his lifetime is spread over two sites. The first, a private mansion built in the 19th century in Paris, is home to the Secretariat, which coordinates and manages all the Foundation’s activities. Renovated in 2019, it regularly hosts temporary exhibitions open to the public. The second, the Foundation’s head office at Périgny-sur-Yerres in the Val-de-Marne, houses and presents its collections in the artist’s former sculpture studios, which have been converted into exhibition rooms. Nearby, Jean Dubuffet’s major work, the Closerie Falbala, is an extraordinary edifice combining architecture, sculpture, and painting, a true climax to the L’Hourloupe cycle.
